Microfilm reader/printer

The library has 2 microfilm reader/printers available for public use.

Microfilm of Urbana Newspapers dating back to the 1820's are available in the Local History room.  You may also access digital copies of the newspaper for free HERE.

Additional microfilm available includes early Champaign County Probate Records, Champaign County Census, etc.  A complete list of microfilm holdings is available HERE.

Online Access of Patron Accounts

You may access your account through the My Account link from the library's home page or the Log In link located on the card catalog's home page.  

Enter your library card number (without the spaces) and your personal identification number (PIN).  Once you log in, you may create an EZ username and password to access your account in the future.  

If you do not remember your 4 digit PIN, please contact the library.  

 

Photocopier

A public copier is available at both libraries near the Service Desk.  Black and White copies are 10¢ each and Color copies are 25¢ each.  If you need assistance, please ask at the Service Desk. 

 

Reference

A reference librarian is on duty at the Service Desk during all business hours.  Please ask reference staff if you have any questions or need assistance finding an item.

The reference collection includes (but is not limited to): Value Line, the Ohio Revised Code, and local zoning laws. Reference books may not be checked out. A photocopier is located near the reference section if you wish to make copies.

Sight-impaired resources

For those who are sight impaired, the following services are available:

Large print books, both fiction and nonfiction. The new releases are located on the shelves with the Large Print books.

Books on CD or Playaways are available for our patrons.

Talking book machines. For those who qualify, patrons may receive a special tape player and have books on cassettes delivered to their home through the Talking Book Program. Please see Patty for more information concerning this service.

Study rooms

Study rooms may be scheduled in advance for use during regular library hours.  If the rooms are not scheduled, they may be used on a first-come, first-served basis.    There is a two (2) hour time limit per use.  Additional time may be approved by a supervisor.  Please sign in at the Service Desk when you arrive for your appointment.  Study room occupants are responsible for any damages.
